Breeder – My background
I'm Regina Kunnas from Aura, and animals have been close to my heart since child. In my childhood home on a farm, I took care of various animals: dogs, cats, pigs, and horses from a young age, and I even have hazy memories of chickens and rabbits.
Horses and horseback riding became very important to me at a young age, and I began competing in show jumping in 1987. Over the years, I also worked as a professional, also breeding and training several high-level show jumping horses. I pursued additional training, including becoming a riding instructor. I competed in show jumping for nearly 30 years, mostly with my own horses, reaching the Grand Prix level. To this day, I have three horses in my pasture as a reminder of those times.
During that era, there were dogs in almost every yard on the farms, and Labrador Retriever Bella and Belgian Shepherd Otto were my beloved dogs during my childhood and youth.
My first Poodle, Penny (Chanzonet Penelope Cruz), a black medium-sized female, arrived at my home in 2013 from Ritva Tuomainen, Kuopio.
As a breeder of performance horses, I had been studying pedigrees and genetics for decades, so transitioning to breeding dogs was a natural progression. As a Poodle breeder, essential factors for me include breed typicality: an elegant and stylish Poodle, moving gracefully with an upright posture, displaying a happy and active temperament, and enjoying good health. I thoroughly assess the health of all dogs used for breeding, and I also hope that puppy owners will conduct basic health tests (eyes + knees + heart) and orthopedic screenings (hips + elbows + back).
I actively participate in dog shows with my dogs and also enjoy agility. I hope to find active homes for my puppies, as Poodles are an energetic breed that thrives when engaged in activities and shared experiences with their human companions.
If you are interested in a Honeypenny puppy, please don't hesitate to contact me and tell me more about yourself!
